Nursery Safety Tips
Furniture:
Make sure toy boxes have hinged lids that stay open and that they have holse for ventilation if your child was to be trapped inside.
Install safety latches on drawers and cabinet doors.
Changing Table:
Never leave your child unattended on a changing table.
Make sure that your changing table has a safety strap and use it.
Use soft carpet in the room to help prevent injury from falls.
Crib:
Do not place a crib near a window, electrical outlet or light.
Do not hang pictures, mirrors or shelves above the crib.
Do not leave toys in the crib.
Remove mobiles around 5 to 7 months or before your child can reach it.
If you have any crib attachments make sure that they are installed on the wall side of the crib.
Remove all bedding, blankets or stuffed animal, to prevent suffocation.
Make sure that your crib mattress fits snugly so that your child can not slip between the mattress and the crib.
Crib slats should be 2-3/8 inches or less to prevent your child from getting trapped between them.
Do not use a crib that has elevated corner post or decorative cutouts.
